Click Here.

Let me first say that the Disney Cruise Line's much-ballyhooed new ship, the Disney Dream, is a wondrous vessel. One of the most spectacular ever built (see our new comprehensive photo tour for a glimpse at its many marvels). But one person's dream ship, of course, can be another's nightmare.

To wit, as a "fair warning" to those thinking of booking, we hereby offer the Cruise Log's list of Five Things on the Disney Dream that Could Drive you Nutty (lest you think we're USA TODAY's version of that little-known dwarf from Snow White, Snarky, rest assured we'll be back later this week with a less irreverent companion list: Five Things on the Dream that will Leave you Dreamy):

1. Disney show tunes playing around-the-clock in hallways. True die-hard Disney fans will love this, but for the small remainder of us, it just might be a wee bit over-the-top. Three days after debarking the vessel, A Whole New World from the movie Aladdin remains on Continuous Loop in my head (please, make it stop!).

2. Disney-dominated cabin TVs. Yes, Disney, we know you own ABC, ESPN and The Disney Channel, but can we get a little diversity here? And I don't mean the two extra channels that play Disney animated classics and animated features. Given the hallway situation mentioned in item No. 1, it'd be nice to fall asleep to something without a Disney song attached to it.

3. (Disney-hopped) kids. I love kids. I have three of them myself (ages 11 to 15). But with a stunning 1,500 extra pull-out bunks for children in a vessel with just 1,250 cabins, this is one ship that is going to be jam packed with the little ones. Even on last week's far-from-full preview cruise, my head was spinning.

4. (Disney-hopped) kids high on soda. Kudos to Disney for not nickel-and-diming passengers with extra charges for soda and other drinks. It's a great touch. But (free) soda machines on the pool deck? That's all we need: The 1,500 kids mentioned in item No. 3 running around pumped full of sugar.

5. The omnipresent Mickey. We'll get letters on this, for sure, but put me down in the camp that says the "hidden Mickey" phenomenon is just completely out of control. Do I really need mini-Mickey heads stamped into the plastic water cups at the buffet and woven into the carpets?

Cruise Loggers, am I a Disney-dumping spoilsport? Tell us what you do -- and don't -- want to see on a Disney ship.

Who wins the cruise ship entertainment smackdown?

TV talent show judges love to poke fun at cruise ship entertainment, but we're guessing they haven't been on the latest crop of vessels. From top-tier Broadway musicals to big-ticket Las Vegas shows, the new generation of mega-ships is dazzling passengers with a quality and quantity of acts never before seen at sea. Here, USA TODAY's Gene Sloan compares the three new entertainment titans of the waves: Royal Caribbean's Allure of the Seas, Norwegian Cruise Line's Norwegian Epic and Disney Cruise Line's Disney Dream. The last of the rebels fled to Masada after the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 CE and joined the rebel community already at the mountain fortress under the command of Eleazar ben Yair.

After a siege that lasted a few months, surrounded by 8,000 Roman troops, the hope of the rebels dwindled. Eleazar ben Yair gave two speeches in which he convinced the leaders of the 960 members of the community that it would be better to take their own lives and the lives of their families than to let their wives be abused and their children turned into slaves. That day, the people of Masada gave up their own lives.

The Roman troops were denied the pleasure of taking over the people and their city. Only two women and 5 children survived. Hiding in the cisterns on the mountaintop, they lived to tell the story of what had happen that night on the first day of Passover.

The tragic events of those last days of the rebels at Masada transformed this impressive plateau mountain into a Jewish cultural icon as well as a symbol of continuous struggle for freedom from oppression. It stands today as the most complete surviving ancient Roman siege system in the world. Many of the walls still stands giving visitors today a true sense of what it was like living in that time.

From the green hills to the desert, there is always something to see riding the roads of Israel. Take in the desert's vast soft sand mountains that change regularly by flash floods. You will see the caves in the side of the mountains where the dead sea scrolls where found. You'll see wild mountain goats, camels, new excavations, along with the Bedouin communities, a predominantly desert-dwelling Arab ethnic group (previously nomadic, currently mostly settled) found throughout most of the desert belt.

The Dead Sea may not be much to look at until you realize there is only one like it in the world, and also the lowest point of the earth at 1500 feet below sea level. Walk into the water and your skin can feel the healing minerals. Walk past where your feet touch and keep on walking never to sink. Sit back as if in a chair, and yes you will float high.

Enjoy my slide show below.

Jaffa Israel

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_BIG6UJVJJ48/S3sJFBvpB6I/AAAAAAAABGU/iNu9Dsl37gM/s320/IMG_3631.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5438950956952258466" />
I loved visiting Jaffa, one of the oldest towns in Israel, believed to have been founded by Japheth, son of Noah. The city of Jaffa overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, served as the ancient Israelite port during King Solomon's time. Jonah embarked for Tarshish from Jaffa. Peter stayed in the home of Simon the Tanner, where he received the vision of the pure and impure animals and were he brought Tabitha back from the dead.

The ancient city of Jaffa has been partially restored with many buildings and historical sites from the Canaanite and Medieval periods. The front entrance gate to the original city still stands however it looks a bit different with the shops at its entrance. The stones you walk on are smooth from time, so be sure to wear good gripping soles. Walking the narrow alleys truly give you a feeling of what it was like living here so many years ago.

You can visit St. Peter's Church or the House of Simon the Tanner. Today Jaffa is an artist's colony and entertainment center. Also famous for its flea market and excellent restaurants. The restaurants are charming as you can see in my pictures below.

Sheraton TelAviv Hotel & Towers

I had the opportunity to stay at the Sheraton TelAviv Hotel & Towers in TelAviv. I am pleased to say it was a very pleasant experience all around. From the time I witnessed a young security person greet two people by name while riding in the elevator together, and experiencing the kindness of each and every staff person who were very friendly and willing to help. In fact, they really came through for me when I sprained my ankle by having someone run out and get an ace bandage for it. That was beyond normal service, in my opinion.

<img src='http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_BIG6UJVJJ48/S3n_8kIMwOI/AAAAAAAAA5U/22VR_sffx84/s320/IMG_3573.JPG' border='0' alt=''style='clear:both;float:left; margin:0px 10px 10px 0;' />

The room had enough space for a very comfortable king size bed, a couch, a desk and plenty of closet space. It had a nice flat screened TV, overall lighting was good, and the self controlled room temperature was very comfortable. My room was on the sixth floor overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. The view was absolutely beautiful and fun to experience. To my right was the marina, and an active beach and promenade runs as far as the eye can see. People were regularly up early and out late jogging, riding bikes, and walking their dogs.

<img src='http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_BIG6UJVJJ48/S3oByQ-451I/AAAAAAAAA5k/a_R4ynfH7Hs/s320/IMG_3582.JPG' border='0' alt=''style='clear:both;float:left; margin:0px 10px 10px 0;' />

The bathroom is modest and small but stocked with lots of towels, bathrobes and plenty of toiletries and extras. It had a nice sink and a wide shower head with good water pressure. It had a nice deep tub with hand rails for easier lifting. We were anxious to see what this cruise line is like. The biggest difference between NCL and the other cruise lines is the Freestyle Dining they have introduced to the market. No more eating at either 6:00 or 8:30. No more sitting at the same table with the same people every night. To some this sounds like the best way to go. However, many who have sailed previously prefer the traditional dining to sitting with different people every night. In my opinion, the biggest draw back to freestyle dining is not having the same server each night. I guess you can ask to sit in the same section if you find a server you particularly like.

We love the freestyle, casualness of NCL. Having a table for two when we just want to talk, or sharing a table with new friends. It was nice to have that option. The entertainment was great. The staff was excellent in all areas. And the food was tasty and plentiful weather you were looking for healthy food or sweet indulgences for your time of escape from the real world.

NCL knows how to treat its past cruisers called Latitude Members. Many sailings will give Latitude Members on-board credit to use as they please, and, or discounted prices. It just takes one cruise with NCL and a person is automatically enrolled as a member.

Here are just a few pictures from the ship. The last 4 photos are in the spa area. Much of the ride runs right through the middle of Six Rivers, Trinity, and Shasta National Forests. Experience the Trinity Rivers Canyon.....if you like Feather River Canyon, you will love this. From there we take a romp by the river on Hwy 96, a road that parallels the Trinity River as it flows north towards the Klamath National Forest. A few miles of curves through the trees, and you're thinking- this is pretty nice. It is, and it's only the beginning.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_BIG6UJVJJ48/SkWqxIvvqKI/AAAAAAAAAME/zE9dAT24RCk/s320/Redwoods+101.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5351871493337753762" />

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_BIG6UJVJJ48/SkWroLdA7dI/AAAAAAAAAMM/nVUelXcHwhY/s320/Redwoods+181.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5351872438957305298" />

Experience the Hoopa Indian Reservation, and when Hoopa disappears in your mirrors, the road gets better. It now runs along the right bank of the Trinity River. Shade and sun alternate, while the hill on your right is sometimes gentle, it's more often rocky and steep, with a similar steep drop-off to your left. The pavement is first-rate: repaved recently so the road surface is in excellent condition. 2nd gear corners, up to 3rd on the short straights. Just the way it's supposed to be. After ten miles of bliss, you're thinking- yep,this is pretty nice. It is, but again: there's more to come. You have to ride it to experience it.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_BIG6UJVJJ48/SkWtQSbHXVI/AAAAAAAAAMU/Pklwrvn579g/s320/Redwoods+322.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5351874227534781778" />

We will be running into Oregon in a circular route towards Crescent City from US 199 where you pretty much parallel the Smith River on one side or the other. We will also experience the redwoods in all their splendor on Newbury Drury Road where we will ride through the prarie land where the wild elk graze. A gorgeous run through the thick of the big trees. Its KODAK time!! We then return to Eureka for another night of rest and relaxation.

Day Three:

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_BIG6UJVJJ48/SkWvA00JTCI/AAAAAAAAAMc/0sto10J3xGE/s320/Redwoods+356.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5351876160911920162" />

After a good breakfast, we'll be on our way again taking Hwy 299 deeper into the bowels and finally going south on a short 35 mile connector (hwy 3) between Hwys 299 and 36 that is quite a ride. The small town of Hayfork sits in the middle of this ride- and what a ride it is! This will most likely be a link in your trip route as this twisty section of road is sort of out there. No major population centers to speak of except Hayfork. Hayfork is the crest of Hayfork Summit, elevation 3,654 ft. If the horizon is clear- you can see all the way to Mt Shasta from Hayfork Summit. Gorgeous. Smooth, tight twisties, not for the faint of heart.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_BIG6UJVJJ48/SkWw_sLOXFI/AAAAAAAAAMk/-7QhPptT6XU/s320/IMG_2688.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5351878340436188242" />

Finally we reach Hwy 36, a motorcyclist dream road. Experience or riding the bowels of a canyon in snaking, sweeping, twisting roads in addition to riding a roller coaster of a ride (no other way to describe it) on very nice roads that rise and fall, twist and sweep, up and down, around and around.....and you fight the urge to twist the throttle faster and faster to experience this roller coaster. You have to experience it to understand. I had a grin factor of 20 on a scale of 10......just ask Dee.

Lodging has been arranged so be sure to secured your room no later than July 31. To reserve a room, call 707-268-8005. Tell them you are a part of "Priebes Ride" for the group rate.

We look forward to riding with you all! We took tours at every port the Princess stopped. We took the train to Whitepass in Skagway as you recommended and enjoyed the beautiful scenery. We took two tours in Juneau - cable car (planned) and later Glacier (unplanned but managed to take the tour). It was great.<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_BIG6UJVJJ48/SkW1kGP5TGI/AAAAAAAAAMs/PFp1FC3fQ4o/s320/alaska-geekang_055.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5351883363956903010" />

Truly enjoyed the trip. We were so tired after the trip because we were so busy having too much fun. Entertainments were outstanding. Dinners were excellent, food at the buffet was also good, crew members were good. I give an excellent rating.

Thank you so much for making our trip easy. Keep up with your good work. They had no worries, traveling with her colloidal silver, she was prepared as usual. Enjoy Terry's review of Secrets Silversands Rivera Cancun:

Hi Dee, We're home safe & sound! On our last full day there the flu thing was a big deal, everyone getting all nervous...but there were no reported cases anywhere around Cancun. I had my colloidal silver with us & we were taking that daily anyway, so we're fine!

The trip was fantastic. The resort is about 15 minutes south of the airport. It's several miles away from the main hwy so you can't just run out to the hwy & catch a bus to town (one of the very few drawbacks). The resort is located on a beach surrounded by other resorts in one direction & houses & condos in the other. The beach is narrow with lots of seaweed, but they have a tractor that runs up & down cleaning. It's very nice & they have wait service on the beach. We took a walk several miles one direction & a little ways the other.

Our room was an ocean front suite. It was beautiful and spacious. The sliding door was the entire width of the room & opened up to a private patio overlooking the beach so we left it open the whole time & listened to the waves lull us to sleep each night. Maid service was top notch, room service was excellent, we got two bouquets of flowers, a bottle of champagne, a fruit tray, and each night they brought little platters of something - twice it was fruit & small dessert nibbles, twice it was candy, chips & little bottles of booze. Turn down service left a rose & chocolates each night.

The resort was a little "miami vice" style - as far as looks and very, very clean. All the staff were friendly and efficient. The restaurants were truely fine dining. Their motto was "it's my pleasure". The nightly entertainment was great, shows, bands, etc.

The pools were beautiful, but not quite warm enough on the cooler days. They have a swim up bar & pool side wait service.

I could go on and on..let me know if you have any specific questions. This was by far the nicest place we've been to on a vacation. You do have to dress for dinner so it's not for the very casual person. It was great fun to dress up though, even Chris enjoyed it.

Yours In Health,
Terry Barnes, CNC
Natural Solutions

Thank you Terri for this great review!

Green Rolling Hills

Life's simple pleasures. However, you must have your passport ready and be prepared to submit your full name including your middle name, your gender and your birth date before purchasing your next air line ticket. This is all part of an effort to move things along more effectively at the airports.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 101px; height: 135px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_BIG6UJVJJ48/SXUW9hQ1nvI/AAAAAAAAAGI/5l-H3Wz8Jq8/s320/passport.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5293162183200710386" />Passports

Currently Passports are required on all air travel outside of the United States. No Passport or Visa is required between United States and itsCaribbean Islands Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands. A picture ID will suffice.

Passports on cruises, hmmmm they should make it easy on us and JUST REQUIRE THEM since they keep saying as of June 1. But every year about this time they extend the passport requirement to June 1 of the next year. So as it stands, as long as you are CRUISING from US on a closed loop (meaning returning to same US port) a passport will not be required. A certified birth certificate (not copy) along with your photo id is required. PLEASE check with your travel agent or the cruise ships yourself.

I encourage people to just go ahead and get their passports. They are good for 10 years. You are ready to go anywhere. But most important, if anything did happen outside the US where you have to fly home, you don't want to have to deal with the hassle of flying without a passport.

Once the actual requirment does change, a Cruiser can take advantage of the less expensive passport alternative, the U.S. Passport Card, geared for travelers in border states and Cruise passengers. This will work fine for regular Cruisers not interested in flying outside the US. But the U.S. Passport card is not acceptable for air travel.

Visa

The United States share a Mutual Visa Waiver with the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative, as well as 34 other countries. Areas that fall under the WHTI are: Canada, Mexico, Bermuda, and The Caribbean region including 17 nation.

Mutual Visa Waiver Countries:

Andorra, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brunei, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, San Marino, Singapore, Slovakia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom .

All inbound Visa Waiver travelers will be require to obtain an electronic travel authorization, ESTA. The Electronic System for Travel Authorization is an Online Application for an electronic travel authorization. Currently the process is free and is valid for multiple entries over a two-year period or the traveler's passport expires.

For more information visit the U.S. Department of State

Bermuda Paradise Playground

Pink-sand beaches, turquoise blue water, warm breezes, and kelly-green golf courses is just the beginning of what makes Bermuda so much fun to visit. The combination of shallow waters, rocks and coral reefs around the islands caused many ships to wreck earning for itself the name Devil's Island. Today however, those reefs provide a paradise playground for swimming, snorkeling, and diving with its undersea treasure of nautical history.

With pastel houses, white roofs, green hillsides and aromatic afternoons, Bermuda is full of historic sites, quaint old cottages, and more forts per square mile than any other place on earth. No long miles of sand beaches here. Instead the beaches are found in bays, coves, and small strips. Bluffs form the back drops for these idyllic beaches, and the waves are rough except where sheltered by reefs or coves.

The majority of the resorts and accommodations are along the South Shore, just a short taxi or bus ride from the airport. Visitors are not permitted to rent cars here. No problem, the public transportation system is excellent and will get you everywhere you want to go. Some island transportation include taxi's, buses, small ferries, which are a good buy, bikes, mopeds, and horse-drawn carriages. One way to economize is with a weekly bus and ferry pass for around $34, every sight, beach, restaurant, and activity will be within the reach.

There are plenty of restaurants, shopping, and sites to see all within walking distance from the hotel. Some of the best sightseeing can be enjoyed hiking the deserted route of the old Railway Trail. Bermuda has more sights within a small parcel of land than perhaps any other island. Bus tours of the island are a great way to see the island.

Steeped in British tradition and hospitality, Bermuda lies in the Atlantic Ocean 600 miles due east of North Carolina. The mainland consists of the seven main islands linked to each other by causeways and bridges in the shape of a fish hook, that stretches only 21 miles from tip to tail.

Bermuda has a distinct atmosphere with influences from American and British traditions merged with local island culture. A very well-planned, upscale community, Bermuda strictly controls its development.

The best time to visit Bermuda is April through October. The summer weather is ideal with highs in the 70s and 80s. Even the cold winter days are not to cold in Bermuda. In the months of November through March the temperature runs in the 60s and 70s.

First colonists were shipwrecked in the year 1609. Two stayed on and welcomed 60 more English settlers 3 years later. These Bermudians became well-to-do plantation owners. They established self government in 1684 as the oldest British colony today. Bermuda helped introduce golf, tennis, and yacht-racing to North America.

Things to see all within 21 miles:

Sandys Parish - quiet lands, many bays, harbors and sheltered islands, shops and quaint inns, dockyards, entertainment and shopping, Maritime Museum.

Southhampton Parish - Horseshoe Bay Beach, the most photographed beaches in the world, Gibbs Hill Lighthouse, the oldest cast iron lighthouse, nice accommodation from luxury resorts to quaint inns.

Warwick Parish - Two fine golf courses, cliffs and beaches lining the south shore.

Paget Parish - Most desirable residential area, across the bay facing the capital, gardens and nature reserves.

Pembroke Parish - Hamilton, the capital, cruise ships dock for 3 or 4 days at atime, policemen choreograph the flow of traffic.

Devonshire Parish - Oceanfront cottage colony owned by actor Michael Douglas.

Smith's Parish - Charming Flatts Village, Verdmont, a gracious example of an original colonial Bermuda home.

Hamilton Parish - The Bermuda Aquarium, one of the island's top attractions, Blue Hole Hill where pottery is made, extensive cave systems.

St George's Parish - Kings' Square, forts, and .museums.

The Caribbean Sea

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 200px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_BIG6UJVJJ48/SVgb1qPnZpI/AAAAAAAAAFM/LvC8Z-poYMY/s320/caribbeanSea.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5285004771406079634" />The Caribbean Sea beaches the northern coast of South America and western coast of Central America. North America lies north of the Caribbean Sea along with The Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic Ocean. The Caribbean Islands are also known as the West Indies.

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 212px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_BIG6UJVJJ48/SVgfbwWKpqI/AAAAAAAAAFs/RRiODcv24SA/s320/usdeptoftourism.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5285008724414080674" />With sheer beauty and national diversity, the Caribbean Sea has a large number of destinations for the traveler to experience. (Picture complements of U.S. Department of Tourism.)

The French West Indies, where French is the language, the food is outstanding and topless bathing is accepted. The Islands are very French and very chic. The Dutch West Indies including Aruba, the popular beach destination, brings East Indian cuisine. The British West Indies are very diverse, with influences from North America, South America and West Africa. Tourism development is controlled on the British Virgin Islands to retain a low profile.

The Spanish influence dominates the Caribbean Sea and its larger islands with Central and South Americas.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 217px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_BIG6UJVJJ48/SVgc_92kzOI/AAAAAAAAAFc/jMY7qnrofts/s320/puertoricotourism2.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5285006047980080354" />(Picture complements of Puerto Rico Tourism Board.)

Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands offer a great vacation destination for U.S. Citizens, not requiring a passport.

It is not hard to understand why the Caribbean Sea is the world's number one destination to cruise. The Caribbean Islands is a much loved, year-round, warm weather destination. Beaches, oceans, cliffs, and shipwrecks; scuba diving, snorkeling, sailing, windsurfing, sport fishing, golf, tennis, ecotourism, hiking, spas, honeymoons, and destination weddings, are all just a small part of the attraction to the Caribbean Islands.

Accommodations range from small secluded luxury resorts to the extravagance of a self contained large all-inclusive resort and spa, providing activities, restaurants, and shopping. Looking for a remote hideaway? You'll find it on one of the Caribbean Islands.

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_BIG6UJVJJ48/SVgch0FPDNI/AAAAAAAAAFU/h0blmpVmzKQ/s320/arubatourism.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5285005529961139410" />Vacationing in the Caribbean is done year round. Both the summer and the winter seasons average temperatures of 75 to 85, and may go down to 65 in the evening and rise as high as 95 midday. With the exception of the Bahamas Islands which experience December and January with occasional cool spells down in the 40 and 50s at night and 60 and 70s during the day. (Picture complements of Aruba Tourism Board.)

Caribbean peak season is mid December to mid April. The months of July and August are almost as busy. Fall weather can be ideal, however, hurricane season officially last from June 1 to November 30. Caribbean governments have worked hard to protect their residents and their tourists. They work closely with the U.S National Hurricane Center and the Weather Channel. Cruises are rarely canceled because of a hurricane. It is usually no problem for the ship to just change the route.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 213px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_BIG6UJVJJ48/SVgerOXb1XI/AAAAAAAAAFk/YccBgeBSHjI/s320/jamaicatouristboard.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5285007890658874738" />Picture complements of Jamaica Tourism Board.

San Juan, Puerto Rico is the big hub for flights to almost every Island. There are several other mini hubs. Many of the airlines in the Caribbean also offer air passes that include three or more stopovers.

Island hopping is easy with several islands being serviced by ferries running among the close islands. A ferry runs between Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Each island has a distinctive topography, history, and culture. Vacationers who use public transportation will find themselves immersed in the local culture. Most visitors prefer to use taxis, car rental, or tours. Majority of islands have a fixed schedule of taxi fares. Visitors should always check with the hotel to learn what the taxi service is expected to cost.

The Caribbeans are predominantly Christian. The French and Spanish islands lean toward Roman Catholicism, British and Dutch islands lean toward various protestant denominations. Judaism is found more on the Dutch islands and Hinduism and Islam are present along with Christianity on Trinidad. Religions of Africa, Voodoo, and other beliefs also exist including the local Rastafarianism of Jamaica.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 213px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_BIG6UJVJJ48/SVgf9fDsGNI/AAAAAAAAAF0/ppODDTLqaiQ/s320/puertoricotourism.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5285009303888730322" />(Picture complements of Puerto Rico Tourism Board.)

Caribbean music is a mixture of both African and Latin rhythms. Calypso originated in Trinidad along with the steel-drum music. Jamaica is the birthplace of reggae. The Dominican Republic gave the world the meringue.

You can expect to enjoy the Rum drinks, pina coladas, daiquiris, and zombies, along with all the carnivals and festivals. You will find Spirit Cruises inside the Ports O'Call just a couple miles south of the Los Angeles Port.

If you are planning a cruise from the Los Angeles Port get your bags checked in early then ask someone to point you to the red trolley cars. A buck a person will give you a ride down to the Port O'Call where you'll find shops, restaurants, and Spirit Cruises.

What a great way to spend a few hours before sailing. In just one hour you'll see over 50 points of interest including the federal breakwater, super cargo terminals, tankers, freighters from all ports of the world, sea lions, beautiful private yachts, the Fire Boat and more. The port tour starts at just $12 for adults and $6 for children.

You can double the time to 2 hours for just $18 for adults and $8 for kids which include over 150 points of interest. The two hour tour includes cruising around Terminal Island, Long Beach and Los Angeles Harbors, under all four bridges, the Navy Base, the Federal Prison, and so much more. This is my favorite. A MUST SEE!

Come a day early to enjoy the great historical town of San Pedro. Plan a Prime Rib Dinner Cruise with Spirit Cruises for $59 or take a Sailing BBQ Dinner Cruise for just $49.

All the yachts are available for private parties, birthdays, weddings and corporate events with prices starting at $35 per person. Unlike other charters this price includes the cruise, food, crew and fun.

Discounts are available for groups from 20-40.

Be sure to visit Spirit Cruises next time you are in San Pedro. Give them a call now to check the schedule for the date you will be in Los Angeles. 310-548-8080

Visit their website here: Spirit Cruises

What You Need to Know About Dreams Puerto Vallarta Resort & Spa

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_BIG6UJVJJ48/RyTk1h9OPCI/AAAAAAAAAAk/SEsdAGsbqwY/s320/dreams.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5126473884153822242" />

Visual Tour: Dreams Puerto Vallarta Resort & Spa

"Wow, great honeymoon Dreams is amazing."

"Romantic and Unforgettable"

"Shhh.....Let's Keep it a Secret"

"Truly a Dream"

"Our most enjoyable Vacation!"

"This resort was more than we could have ever expected! You truly set us up on the best honeymoon!

We loved being in Puerto Vallarta at the Dreams Resort and Spa. After planning a wedding for five-hundred people, the staff at Dreams took care of us in a way that allowed us to relax and celebrate our marriage. It was the perfect place for us to spend ten relaxing days after our wedding.

We loved the fact that Dreams was located five minutes south of the downtown of Puerto Vallarta; it removed us just enough from the busy downtown but it was easy to take a taxi to town when needed.

The resort had gorgeous rooms, ocean views, pools, restaurants, and gracious hospitality by all.
We had such a great time that we ended up only leaving the resort two times during our ten day stay.

We can’t thank you enough!
